ACCESS TO A GP SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

0

The next Conservative government will give everyone access to a GP seven days a week.

Under Labour, 90% of GPs stopped seeing patients at evenings and weekends, named GPs were abolished, and the number of family doctors was cut by almost 800 in their last year in office – damaging patient care.

But we’re putting patients first by:

  • Giving everyone access to a GP seven days a week by 2020, so patients can see their GP at a time that suits them
  • Supporting thousands of GPs to stay open for longer, so millions of people have better access to a doctor
  • Restoring named GPs for everyone in the country, so every patient has their own doctor responsible for all their care outside hospital – ensuring more personal care and greater peace of mind for patients

It’s part of our plan to secure a better future for Britain – where people are confident that when they and their family need it, the NHS will be there for them.

And it’s only possible because – as part of our long-term economic plan – we’ve taken the difficult decisions to reduce inefficient spending elsewhere.

You can’t fund the NHS without a healthy, growing economy – and that’s what Labour will put at risk.

Share this post to let everyone know that we’ll give patients access to a GP seven days a week.
